One should be cautious about purchasing cheap scuba equipment. Diving is an inherently risky endeavor as it is, without having to worry about faulty gear. While there are some diving accessories that one can get away with purchasing the “cheap” equivalent, some diving gear should not be skimped on.

Anything having to do with the breathing apparatus and air supply should not be put on a list of cheap scuba equipment. These items are absolutely vital to your survival while underwater, and therefore only high quality equipment should be used. While there might be a temptation to try and save a little bit of money on these items, the results could prove disastrous.

Items such as fins and mask can be purchased as cheap scuba equipment. These items aren’t as vital to your survival. However, there are always comfort issues with this type of equipment that is often worth the extra money.
