Not everyone requires a top of the line wetsuit. For the tourist or weekend warrior, cheap wetsuits can be an adequate alternative. However, there are some things to consider when looking for an inexpensive set up.

When buying cheap wetsuits, be sure that they do not contain a lot of rubber in the neoprene. Rubber, while inexpensive, does not contain any air bubbles. In a quality suit, the air bubbles act as insulation, so by reducing the number of these bubbles, the manufacturer has essentially reduced its insulative effects.

It is also important to inspect the stitching when purchase cheap wetsuits. A quality suit will usually have double stitching and sealed seams. Any wetsuit that uses a simple single stitch should probably be avoided.
