Scuba compressors fill up scuba tanks and other cylinders with compressed gas. They are used by diving companies as well as by firefighters to keep their tanks full of safe breathing gasses. Typically atmospheric air is filled but other gasses are often used as well with helium being a very popular alternative.
Scuba compressors can fill anywhere between one and five bottles at a time depending on the size of the unit. They are usually very large, easily taking up an entire corner of a room. Most have many safety features that prevent overfilling tanks and other dangerous situations. Most fill the tanks in a matter of minutes depending on the size of the tank.
Scuba compressors are very expensive but once purchased can fill thousands of tanks for years and years. Considering the long life of the compressors they are actually quite economical and effectively fill tanks safely for many years. Regular cleaning can keep them working in tip top shape.
